A leisurely drive down through the National Bison Range and Salish Kootenai Reservation isn't one that will soon be forgotten. Of course, it pretty much already goes without saying, that the views of the surrounding Mission Mountains are absolutely spellbinding.
There are also among others countless bison, elk, deer, antelope and numerous other mammals and species of birds to be seen and observed. Even a bear or two are spotted on fairly regular occasions.
So pack yourself a really hearty lunch, your camera and binoculars, a lot of drinking water, some extra layers of clothing in the event the weather abruptly changes for the worse. Cmon folks- after all this is Montana!
Then take your sweet ass time, all the while stopping along the way to snap a few pics here and there, as it's not like you're going to be running into a whole lot of traffic anytime soon!
