Go on a weekend tour, or make a day trip out of it! Once you've finished your ride through some spectacular scenery, we usually recommend a stop in at the local brewery to swap stories with other bikers and travelers. With 64 mountain ranges, the Continental Divide Trail slicing through the state, and historic mountain passes, Montana has trails pretty much everywhere. From mellow beginner and family-friendly rides to experts-only single-tracks, you’ll find your home as you explore the state.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Meet your guide in Missoula and begin your mountain biking adventure.

  • Start with a warm-up ride on the Rattlesnake Trail, a popular local trail system with technical singletrack and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

  • Stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before heading to your next destination, the Bitterroot Valley.

  • Set up camp at the base of the Bitterroot Mountains and enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars.

Day 2:

  • Today's ride takes you through the beautiful Bitterroot Valley, where you'll experience stunning views of the surrounding peaks and ride some of the best singletrack in Montana.

  • Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic overlook before continuing on to your next campsite in the Bitterroot Mountains.

  • Relax and enjoy a hot dinner after a day of challenging mountain biking.

Day 3:

  • Today's ride takes you to the Big Sky Country, with a visit to the town of Philipsburg and a ride on the famous Discovery Bike Park.

  • The Discovery Bike Park offers over 30 miles of lift-served trails, with a variety of terrain for all skill levels.

  • After a day of downhill mountain biking, check in to your hotel in Philipsburg and enjoy a well-deserved dinner at a local brewery.

Day 4:

  • Today's ride takes you to the Continental Divide Trail, a scenic route that follows the spine of the Rocky Mountains.

  • This challenging ride offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, as well as a chance to see local wildlife like elk and bighorn sheep.

  • After the ride, relax and soak in the hot springs at nearby Fairmont Hot Springs Resort before enjoying a delicious dinner at the resort's restaurant.

Day 5:

  • On your final day of mountain biking in Montana, ride the famous Whitefish Trail system in the Flathead Valley.

  • This trail system offers over 40 miles of singletrack through dense forests, with stunning views of Whitefish Lake and the surrounding mountains.

  • After the ride, celebrate your adventure with a farewell dinner featuring locally-sourced ingredients and Montana-inspired cuisine.
